The geology of rare earth element (REE) deposits, and associated uranium and thorium is fascinating and complex. The ways in which these elements can be enriched through primary igneous, hydrothermal, weathering, and sedimentary processes, knows few bounds. This makes each deposit unique and intriguing to understand. Traditionally of course, extracting rare earth elements has been difficult and problematic, not least because of the often associated radioactive elements uranium and thorium.
Paetoro is working with REE processing and thorium market experts to help understand how some of these problems can be mitigated or even circumvented, and how new markets can be explored for previously problematic by-products. Core to all this, is first and foremost getting to grips with the astounding geology of both Turkey, and rare earth element enrichment.
